More than Me
More than me
I waited for him every day and night
Hoping he would come back from the last trip
He put her on the silver, lit her bright
From the needle to his veins she would drip
Mom screamed at him and threw his away spoon
He ran out on us for a couple days
All my nights were spent talking to the moon
I never stopped hoping that he would stay
The moon gave in and it gave me more hope
Because I saw him a couple months past
I saw his smile though it came from the dope
I hoped that the joyful feeling would last
There I was but he thought I didn’t see
I always knew he loved her more than me
