Mountain Lights
I'll see you when the sun comes out again.
Over the mountains when light slivers through.
I'll be there smiling, remembering when,
We were happy; joyful, just me and you.
Though those memories are before us now,
I like to think it was the other day.
Just yesterday when we both took a bow,
Said our goodbyes, wishing that you would stay.
But now I'm here, alone, wishing you'd come.
Wishing for daylight to shine down on me.
Darkness has reigned for so long, now I'm numb.
I have to come to terms with what will be.
Light won't pass these mountains anytime soon.
Night is my partner, and so is the moon.
