The Last Scene
He lays there so still and so beautiful
and upon his finger a wedding band
and after death he will remain youthful
empty saucer of poison in his hand
I long to be with him, death due us part
happy dagger, perhaps it shall not be long
together soon after I pierce my heart
life without you would be a life lived wrong
life itself too lonely, to be alone
must be brief I hear someone approaching
I stab myself letting out a small moan
reunited soon, blood is now soaking
metal dagger there rust and let me die
and our love now reserved, just you and I

I wrote this poem based off of the Shakespeare play Romeo and Juliet. I've incorperated a couple of the lines from the actual script in my writting.
