Coffee
Every day I watch you drink coffee.
You drink until ev’rything goes away.
Every day I want you to be free,
But your coffee addiction just won’t sway.
I don’t see why you like how it’s bitter,
You say one day I’ll learn to like the taste.
I hope not, drinking’s never the answer.
You say it’d be a shame if it went to waste.
I really don’t like that you drink coffee,
I lie awake at night and wish you’d stop,
Tracing the burns from when you spilled on me.
Coffee’s an addiction I wish you’d drop.
And ev’ry day you offer it to me,
But ev’ry day I would rather drink tea.
