Carve
Caresses her body, defined by each touch
Like Venus’ aqua Genesis, mother
is slab white, but in fathers sapient clutch
Her stance and curve mirror more his lover
Same pursed lips ripe, same upturned almond eyes,
Her smile asks him to discover her, learn
But when he asks, no seed does fertilize
Beneath finger, no movement or warmth returned
His sleepless hours before the slab can’t cure
She is but a lifeless shadow of her.
