The Way of Life
I gave you the broken pieces of my life
You took them and threw them into the wind.
It almost hurt as much as a stab wound from a knife.
Why do this to me? For I have not sinned.
I loved you until the day I had stopped
Because your actions had killed all of my words.
Falling like flies they had suddenly dropped.
You thought you were being sweet like a box of nerds
Little did you know you were bitter like black licorice.
Forgiveness is a gift that must be earned
I was wary as I looked at my clean dish
For the lies you have told I am concerned.
Now wherever I go you aren’t there
Life is better without my despair.
