Cloud of Grey
"The Man Covered in Ash" by "Amy." Yet alone, the title did a remarkable job hooking the reader. Remembering what they ate last weekend might be hard to picture, but not 9/11. "Amy" expresses how 9/11 was seen with her own eyes in a poetic memoir that keeps you on the edge of your seat. Her descriptive, yet short sentences give you the feel of the tragedy. "A man covered in ash. White as a cloud. With only his eyes clear." "Amy's" writing is precise and to the point, painting a vivid picture in your mind.
Although I was only one when this incident occurred, many of my family members were filled with grief. This article helped me understand more about the awful day and sympathize. What if my aunt was at work that day? Thankfully, she wasn't, but many people were. "Amy" shows all the reader a realistic picture of the great tragedy even if they weren't alive yet to witness it for themselves.
