"summer rain"
Summer Rain
by Shakia Levy-Sheo
The piece “Summer Rain” by Shakia Levy-Sheo, of Oakland, CA. It is about a girl who is outside in the rain encountering many things. Some of the things she explains is the beautiful flowers with bees flying from one to another and the bugs flying low over the grass.
I think the author did a very good job describing the writing with descriptive language. I could picture her walking down to the creek and crouching down to pretend like she did not see the group of men fishing across the creek. The whole piece caught my eye because it was very peaceful and calm and those are the kind of moments I would fall in love with too.
I think her topic sentence “I fall in love in a moment” is one of my favorite sentences, because it draws the reader in and makes you want to read the whole story. This story made me think about how special you can make every moments and how important all the moment in my life are.
