If you think your life is bad, clearly you haven’t read about Willow Chance. In Counting By 7s, Willow is a gifted kid who is also adopted. Her real parents died before she was born and since she barely had social skills, Willow didn’t have a lot of friends when she started school. She loves gardening and taking care of the plants in her backyard. Unfortunately, all of this changed after the accident occurred.

This book was so sad! I shed a couple tears, I’m not going to lie. Willow's life just got worse and worse. Only tiny things made it slightly better but nothing could fix the accident. Throughout this novel, I wanted to give Willow a big hug! I loved how clueless she could be at times and how nobody truly understood her.

On a scale of one to ten, I’ll give this book a three. I didn’t like this book at all. It is well written and includes everything a novel should. Unfortunately, it wasn’t my cup of tea. I’m not the kind of person who likes to read semi-realistic stories. I prefer fantasy and this book took me so long to read because I could not get into it.

If you like realistic fiction novels, I totally recommend this book. If you feel like you need to broaden your reading, read this book. But if you are like me and you prefer fantasy, don’t waste your time. It probably won’t be worth it for you.
