Twilight by Stephenie Meyer MAG

May 30, 2008

I was never in love with vampires until Twilight came out. I didn’t know it was possible, but Stephenie Meyer changed the stereotypical blood-sucking vampire into a beautiful god-like creature.

In Twilight, an average high school girl, Bella Swan, falls in love with one of the most beautiful boys at her new school, Edward, who happens to be a vampire. What does one call a stunning, mysterious vampire and his stunning, mysterious vampire family? I believe “The Cullens” would suffice.

The author’s style and characters will glue your hands to the book and your eyes to the page. In no time, the book is over. But don’t worry – there are three sequels: New Moon, Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn.

Twilight is well written from Bella’s point of view. It feels as though a movie is playing in your head. If you don’t feel that way, have no fear, the actual movie comes out November 21.

Twilight is such a magnificent book that it was a New York Times bestseller. Who would have thought that the idea for such an astonishing book could come from a dream the author had?

The theme is love conquers all, even the supernatural. Nothing stands in the way of love for Edward and Bella. Or does it?

Meyer’s style of writing will have you wanting to believe that there are gorgeous vampires roaming our world and just hopefully there will be Edwards for all of the girls who have fallen in love with this fictional yet breathtaking character. Since the characters’ love is forbidden, it only makes it better. After all, forbidden fruit tastes the sweetest.

I read the first two books. They were good, but I thought that they put too much detail into it. It seemed to get really boring the farther i got into the series, but i do admit, it was good literature.

No I am not, I have read them, and therefore I have the right to defend my opinion, and my friends.

When the Twilight fever first spread, I was a resister. I finally gave in and read it and when I did, it was really good. I think that if an initial Twilight hater, who never read the books read this article, they would definitely be inspired to read it. Good job. :)

Twilight has you gripped from the moment you pick it up and Bella is on her way to fawkes.I was never really a vampire kinda girl with the whole disgusting blood drinking stuff but this is completely and utterly different!

It tell the story of an normal girl Bella Swan falling for Edward Cullen (a vampire).

The Cullen family will have glued to the book and take you through the romantic and dangerous book, but if you go through it too quickly dont worry because there are more!!And movies!!

Twilight is written from Bella swan's point of view and in my opinion makes it all the better,as you see what she see's through her eyes.

I love this book about love being the highest point in their vampire-human relationship as if nothing can stand in their way at all or can it?

Meyer's book will have you wanting to believe their are actual vampires roaming round our world and that you will be the normal girl who moves school and finds herself in love with a a vampire.I think what makes this book more exciting is that the Bella and edwards love is forbidden. After all everyone wants what they cant have!!

And to add to the above, you are crticising me for insulting your opinion, but in the next breath, you insult my opinion. That is really hypocritical you know. And you will NEVEr sway me on my opinion of the Twilight Saga. So just go on wrting whatever the heck you want about Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings, but know that some people will agree with me. (Including those very friends that you insulted)

Claudia, she can write. It's just too low of a "grade-level" for most readers. And while I believe Stephen King was absolutely right in reguards to her inability to form a plot without holes, I think if people want angst they should just look around themselves. There's plenty of angsting, overemotional teens everywhere these days. (Without all of the sparkles of course.)

"Though the brave may not live as long, the cautious hardly live at all." Myself.

Not trying to come across as disrespectful, but this is exactly why I feel some people had a hard time liking twilight. Because vampires aren't supposed to be that way. But the word 'supposed' is hardly permiment. Meyer is a writer, therefore she will stretch the walls back and try and jump outside of the boz and normal quidlines, and I applaud her for doing so. Just because in nurmorous books, vampires are portrayed as, 'Deathly, seductive, immortals who feast on the sweet and bitter blood of the mortals' doesn't mean meyer had to bend to the will. She thought, "You know what, I'm going to completly change the outlook on vampires, and turn my little group into wonderous creatures." And guess what, it worked! People, such as myself, modestly nodd in approvel for her guts and courage to change the average vampire. Meyer brought change, and I believe change is good.
