In the 3rd book of the Lorien Legacies, the aliens of Lorien continue their search for each other so they can one day destroy Setrákus Ra (the leader of the Mogadorians). Number 4 and 9 are working together to try and find the rest of their "alien" friends. They go back to Chicago to Nines original home. Four continues having visions about Setrákus Ra and the other numbers. Meanwhile Marina, Six, Ella and Crayton are searching for Eight. They face real battles with each other as they search for one another. When they finally find Eight, they find a Loralite stone that can transport them to the far corners of the Earth. But the Mogadorians are the only thing standing in their way. Nine and Four figure out what Mr. Goode's tablet does and are able to figure out that their next destination is New Mexico. They all come together as one to fight the FBI right on he outskirts of the (secret underground) Dulce Base. Once they get past the FBI they have the biggest battle of their life ahead of them. It's what they've been preparing for since they landed on Earth.
A can't miss moment in the book is when Nine and Four battle on the top of the John Hancock Center in Chicago. They are out in the open using their Legacies to fight each other (they can't agree on their next destination). At one point Nine has Four over the ledge but uses his better judgment to keep him alive. It is a battle that definitely lets you into just how different both guys were trained. Going along with that the deeper meaning of my book is that when you have a common goal you have to put your differences aside and work together, using each other's strengths. My book has a very strong symbol of friendship throughout making it just as touching as it is action packed.
This book is geared toward a teenage audience who is interested in action and adventure novels. This book keeps you on the edge of your seat after each chapter has ended making you want to keep reading. It also keeps your attention by changing who the narrator is every chapter. I would give this book a 5 star rating because, this is the most action filled book in the series so far. I would recommend this book to anyone! I can't wait to read the next book.
