The Lost Sun by Tessa Gratton
This book is based upon Norse mythology so before you continue, read up on the topic because I do not want to make this longer than it needs to be. Soren Bearskin is a berserker who is trying to control his rage as his father killed innocent people and was shot to death. Astrid Glyn is a seethkona whose mother Jenna disappeared and is thought dead. Soren and Astrid go on a road trip to find the god of light Baldur after he remains in ashes on the first day of summer.
I think Norse mythology is underrated and has only recently come into the public eye by the way of the Marvel Thor movies. Soren is an amazing narrator and character. His dad was killed in a rage and his mom abandoned him after he decided to accept his status as a berserker. He attempts to control his rage and channel it.
