Elliott Smith - XO MAG
When I watch a movie, I alsopay attention to the background music and after seeing"Good Will Hunting," I left the theatre with onesong stuck in my head. Months later I heard it again; it was"Waltz #2" by Elliott Smith, who won awards for thissoundtrack. I listened to the whole CD and liked it so much Iwent out and bought it.
"XO" has fourteentracks, most of which are fairly mellow with lyrics backed bykeyboards, drums and acoustic guitars. Other than "Waltz#2," the album has slow songs such as"Pitseleh," "Oh, well, OK," "Waltz#1" and "I Didn't Understand." Smith's albumalso has louder, upbeat songs like "Baby Britain,""Independence Day," "Amity" and "AQuestion Mark."
This CD is a good investment and agreat alternative to louder bands.
