So many of our dreams at first seem impossible, then they seem improbable, and then, when we summon the will, they soon become inevitable.” - Christopher Reeve

“My name is Barry Allen, and I am the fastest man alive. When I was a child I saw my mother killed by something impossible. My father went to prison for her murder. Then an accident made me the impossible. To the outside world I am an ordinary forensic scientist, but secretly I use my speed to fight crime and find others like me. And one day, I’ll find who killed my mother and get justice for my father. I am the Flash.” Begins the star Thomas “Grant” Gustin. October 14, 2014 airs the second episode of the Flash in the very first season.

Featuring some of the best of the best action sequences and the greatest writing for a CW show in its very first season. The writing for the second season almost completely beats the villainous Reverse Flash played by legendary Thomas Cavanagh and Matthew Letscher who each gave us sinister takes on the iconic opposite of the fast hero, Flash. Learning of his origin and of his plans. The show only gets better in ways of dialogue and action with fast paced action. Bringing us along in the ride as if we were there racing along with them, the first confrontation between the Flashes only goes down on most youtuber’s rankings as one of the best arrowverse first confrontations. Occurring at the best places in the season where the mystery’s intriguing only grows as the viewers gain a sense of what’s happening next but still left hanging as to what’s happening.

The show manages to do this several times throughout the first four seasons!

Season two, referred to as the sequel season, nearly tops its predecessor. Leaving the mystery on, and knowing who the big bad might be, and when we meet him, we’re scared and instantly feel dread as we watch and hear Zoom. Psychologically breaking Bartholomew Henry Allen with the death of his father in the second season's finale, left the viewer feeling the same sadness as Barry. Leading onwards towards a great final build up towards the payoff as Flash and Zoom racing which ultimately results in the defeat of the villainous speedster. Also in season two opens up the iconic idea of the multiverse theory of other earths. Going on for earth two’s threat. Thus, giving us more to think of. The goodness doesn’t stop there as the cliffhanger bubbles with the viewer afterward.

Season three at first was bad, those said around twenty sixteen but I disagree. As it was the first season I saw every episode on air beginning that October of 2016. Boy did I not care for the writing, and yet I did enjoy it. Upon rewatching, I realize some earlier episodes are boring and don’t really make the overall story interesting for the main conflict centered around the episodes but does leave pieces of unanswered question of what’s going to happen next. Which I successfully did before, right? For me the mystery is leaving me wanting to know more about it. An addition into the mystery is the teasing reveal of Kid Flash and Killer Frost. Two iconic characters within the Flash lore. Finally getting Kid Flash, we grow excited as we now have the iconic duo on screen and then we finally have the build up towards the antagonistic and villainous Killer Frost. Although the first half of season 3 lacked, and I feel it could’ve been done better with the ways of the first 6 episodes focused on Flashpoint and the annual crossover. Then the paradox of finding out all the differences and cramming in the idea of Savitar arriving and getting to learn some more of him, before taking off towards the mid season finale!

Season four’s concept and idea really intrigued me and I remember anxiously and eyes glued to the screen and liking the actor portraying the villainous Thinker. The idea of the Fastest Man alive versus the fastest mind alive sounded exciting to me. The idea of the Flash almost meeting his match in thought, should’ve worked and would’ve worked if the writers kept their thoughts and heads to themselves. Minding their own business would’ve kept the season on the high. Swiveling their heads, although a bit down at times, this season also gave us a great addition of the Elongated Man, otherwise Ralph Dipny!
