Big Bang Theory
“Bazinga!” that’s just one of the many catchphrases or funny conversations that happen on the Big Bang Theory. Created in 2007, Chuck Lorre and Bill Prady have made a perfect master piece. It is a hilarious American sitcom that focuses on 7 friends. Sheldon Cooper played by Jim Parsons, Leonard Hofstadter played by Johnny Galecki, Howard Wolowitz played by Simon Helberg, Penny played by Kaley Cuoco, and Rajesh Koothrappali played by Kunal Nayyar are the main characters of this gut busting comedy.
Sheldon Cooper is the kind of person who thinks that he is right about everything, and that no one is as smart as him. That’s the best thing about him, even though he doesn’t like to be proven wrong, he can be caring when the time comes for it. Jim Parsons does an excellent job portraying Sheldon because he fits the descriptions perfectly. He has that matter-of-fact voice that makes a person seem like they are the ones who are wrong and he’s the one who is right.
Leonard Hofstadter is different from Sheldon, he is actually nice and considerate to people, although he’s socially awkward he still manages to have his friends still like him. Even though he is the typical nerd he still is able to have steady relationships with other women, like Rajesh’s sister and Penny.
Penny is the average blonde who doesn’t know much about science. In one of the episodes that Sheldon frequently hears men going in and out of Penny’s apartment. She may seem like she doesn’t know much, but still continues to engage in conversation with the guys.
Howard Wolowitz can’t get a single woman to go out with him, unless it was a 50 year old woman; in a tie dye t-shirt giving away brownies in the middle of nowhere. He always wants someone that he can’t have or is completely out of his league which is all the time. He is a short Jewish man about 5’4 which is really short for a man his age, and aside from his height, he lives with his mother.
Rajesh Koothrappali is originally from India and is part of a rich family. Rajesh quickly became friends with Leonard and Sheldon when they first meet. Like every nerd, Rajesh has a difficulty talking to women, and by difficulty that means not at all. If he is drunk then he can talk to women with complete ease, even though his strategies never work.
The general audience is mostly for teenagers and adults. Little kids shouldn’t be watching this show because there are cuss words and crude humor in every episode. Also, the way the comedy is set up would be different than a show on Nick Jr. This show is a nerd loving joy to see from ages 14 to 90.
The show involves nerds and comedy, both of those together can’t go wrong, it depends on if it’s set up correctly. The director obviously thought out all of the dialogue and how it’s supposed to fit together. If you use a science joke you have to make sure that it goes with the outcome if not then the joke makes no sense, confusing the audience. If you watch this show you are bound to enjoy yourself and you’ll certainly laugh at some point.
Don’t waste anymore time nerd it up and watch Big Bang Theory!
