My Eternal Love Prologue: Azriella
Azriella
Prologue
January 10th 2006
I sat waiting for his reaction. I wanted to shout, or hide, or do anything but sit here!
The silence was worse than any lecture I imagined.
I quickly shot a look over to James, anxiety obvious on my face. He squeezed my hand reassuringly. In my mind our news made sense.
What everyone thinks and says doesn’t matter. I said just minutes before we arrived.
“I love you,” I whispered.
“As I love you,” James responded, so low my Dad didn’t have a chance of hearing.
The love and adoration are clear in our eyes. I hadn’t anticipated this. I had expected fury, disappointment, even rage but silence. My heart beat faster the longer my dad stayed silent. I wondered what he would say. Everything my parents had ever taught me went against our news. I could see the shock on his face.
