Serenity
Peaceful, like an ocean’s tide,
Easily broken, just like one’s pride.
Healing those with a broken mind,
Calming those who one thinks are too kind.
Never far away, only yet so hard to reach,
The key is to let go, as one must preach.
Fills forest glades, and cool liquid lakes,
The soft silence of tranquillity it makes.
The gift of wisdom, and not the wrong knowledge,
Like dust motes floating on rays of sun through the foliage.
The one thing mankind doesn't have too much of,
And the one thing it needs to love.
The ideal mood temperament of all,
And the one from which you’ll never fall.
The sun, the moon, the stars,
All of which are drowned out by the honking cars.
A clear night sky? Probable.
A silent night sky? Impossible.
Silence may not be key,
But you’ll always need
Serenity.
