You kept my heart safe, in your hand’s tight clasp.
Now you are squeezing, with a violent grasp.
My screams of pain won’t save my bursting heart,
but when, when did things start falling apart?

My love for you was always pure and true,
but I cannot say the same thing for you.
My small mind cannot seem to comprehend
why things must come to such a bloody end?

I feel your clench tightening more and more,
I lose all hope, and mercy I implore.
An ear-piercing shriek escapes from my lips.
My lifeless heart falls from your fingertips.

An inert pile of flesh is all that’s left,
I have now declared cardiac arrest.
